Your mind associates the temporary pleasure with the natural sexual drive of the body, and slowly, the hunger of the body crosses the limit. These negative thoughts and visions make you indulge in a vile habit which brings only misery and humiliation in its wake after the pleasure has subsided.

To overcome your porn addiction you need to jump into reality and exercise your imagination to invent a powerful negative image of the actual results of porn and masturbation on your life. Then whenever you feel the pull of lust tugging you, correlate the negative image with the temptation. Doing this constantly will diminish the temptation gradually. To keep up your strength and will power it is a requisite to build positive associations of what you can gain being free from the porn or masturbation addiction. For example if you are able to abstain for 3 days in a row, give your determination the credit it deserves and purposely relate the great feeling to your abstinence. You can say “I love the new life that I am leading, totally free from dirt and filth” and keep repeating the sentence in your mind so that your mind associates the feelings of satisfaction and contentment as a result of self-restraint from the addiction.
